Advocacy

What We Support:

  • High-quality child care that is affordable, accessible, and sustainable.
  • Support for early educators through fair compensation, training, and resources.
  • Family-centered policies that reflect the real needs of parents and caregivers.
  • Data-driven decision making to ensure policies are effective and equitable.

Our Process

  • Policy Research & Recommendations
We analyze data, identify challenges, and propose policy solutions that strengthen early childhood systems in Mississippi.
  • Coalition Building
MELA convenes diverse partners – from educators and business leaders to health professionals and families – to build a common agenda for young children.
  • Engaging Policymakers
We meet with state leaders, provide testimony, and share stories that highlight why early childhood investments matter for Mississippi’s future.
  • Public Awareness
Through campaigns, events, and digital content, we help Mississippians understand the importance of strengthening our state’s early childhood system.
