2026 Objectives

Advocate Together
Advance key early childhood legislation including paid parental leave for teachers, removal of the diaper tax, maintaining or increasing CCPP funding, equitable TANF investments, and exploring models such as Tri-Share or state-supported food security programs.

Strengthening Partnerships
Use Capitol Day as a statewide touchpoint to connect organizations, aligning messaging, and identify opportunities for year-round collaboration.

Build Shared Power
Encourage partners to co-lead conversations and elevate each other’s expertise.

Engage Bipartisan Lawmakers
Meet with legislators in relationship-centered conversations grounded in shared values and local community insights.

Arriving at the Capitol

400 High Street, Jackson, MS 39201

Individual Cars
Park in the parking lot located diagonally across the street from the Capitol at High Street and President Street. Parking is free in that lot.

Buses
Bus driver should let off passengers on the east side, the front of the Capitol (PRESIDENT STREET). Bus driver should drive around to the Mississippi Fairgrounds to park. Driver should call Capitol Police at 601-359-3125 for officer to pick up bus driver and bring to Capitol. At end of tour, driver should call Capitol Police to take him/her to bus.
